There has been a big debate in the bald head community over which look is best. Should a head be shaved to give it that extra smooth shiny look? Or should you cut your hair with clippers and leave a little stubble and create the military look? It is really a matter of personal preference. Like anything, there are pros and cons with each look.

One good thing about the smooth look is, when you shave with a razor you will have to shave your head less often. The hair is cut closer so therefore it will take longer to grow back. Also, a lot of bald guys prefer that shine you get when shaving with a razor. If you have dry skin, you made need to add an aftershave lotion or baby oil to bring on the shine. On the other side of the coin, if you have flaws on your head they WILL be exposed. I’m talking loose skin, scars, pimples, etc. If you have any of these, you make want to stick with clippers.

If you use clippers to cut your hair, the peach fuzz will of course help hide these flaws. Also by using clippers you reduce the chance of getting razor bumps. Make sure your clippers are sterilized before each use. Alcohol works great. Depending on your type of hair, it usually takes longer to cut your hair with clippers.

Whichever look you prefer, go low as you can. Bald is the look you’re going for!
